How to Choose the Best Photos for a Custom Bobblehead
A practical photo checklist for getting a recognizable face, accurate hairstyle, outfit and pose.
Start with a clear face photo
Use natural light, keep the face in focus and avoid beauty filters. A straight-on photo is the most useful starting point because it shows the eyes, nose, smile and face shape evenly.
Add angles only when they help
One photo is enough to place an order, but a side view can clarify the hairstyle, beard, glasses or profile. Extra photos should add new information rather than repeat the same view.
Show the outfit and pose
If the finished figure should match a specific outfit, include a full-body reference. For a custom pose, send a photo or describe where the arms, hands and props should be.
Photograph pets separately
A bright eye-level pet photo helps the artist see markings and expression. Add a side view when the coat pattern, ears or tail are important.
